ISRAELI GOVERNMENT TO REFUSE ENTRY TO UN TEAM INVESTIGATING WAR CRIMES IN GAZA
Posted on November 13, 2014 by jstp - The Human Rights Council in session. (Photo: UN/Jean-Marc Ferré) Common Dreams – by Sarah Lazare - Israel announced Wednesday it will refuse entry to United Nations human rights investigators who seek to probe potential war crimes committed in the latest 50-day military assault on Gaza.
The 47-member UN Human Rights Council in July approved the inquiry into “all violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and the occupied Gaza Strip in the context of military operations conducted since mid June,” focusing on the actions of Israel as well as Hamas. Twenty-nine nations voted in favor of the investigation, with the U.S. issuing the sole “no” vote.
In a Wednesday evening statement reported by numerous media outlets, Israel’s foreign ministry spokesperson Emmanuel Nahshon announced that Israel will not cooperate with the rights council’s commission, which is headed by international law professor William Schabas.
As a result, the investigators will not be allowed to enter Gaza through the Erez crossing, which is under Israel’s control. The Rafah crossing was recently closed offby the Egyptian government, meaning that entry is likely to be difficult for the UN team. In his statement, Nahshon accused the rights council of “obsessive hostility toward Israel,” echoing Israel’s previous condemnation of the investigation as a “kangaroo court.”
Critics charge that the UN, in fact, does not go far enough, as U.S. veto power prevents the international community from acting on this and other inquiries, including the Goldstone Report, which reviewed a previous Israeli military attack on Gaza in 2009.
Nahshon’s statements are in keeping with Israel’s repeated dismissal of criticisms for the war on Gaza, which killed at least 2,194 Palestinians, at least 75 percent of them civilians and over 500 of them children. Seventy-two Israelis, six of them civilians, also died in the conflict. Israel destroyed over half of Gaza’s hospitals and health centers and struck six UN schools sheltering Palestinians, including in cases where the UNRWA formally submitted coordinates of the shelters to the Israeli military. Israel has been accused of possible war crimes in the offensive by Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and UN High Commissioner for Human RightsNavi Pillay.
This is not the first time Israel has publicly criticized the rights council. Israelsevered ties with the body in 2012, following the council’s launch of an investigation into Israeli settlements in the West Bank, considered illegal under international law.
“It’s business as usual for Israel to commit severe human rights violations and war crimes and refuse to be held accountable,” Ramah Kudaimi of the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation told Common Dreams. “Now it’s time for the international community to take real action and sanction Israel.”

JORDAN KING MEETS NETANYAHU AND KERRY, CALLS SISI
World Bulletin/News Desk - November 13, 2014 - Netanyahu said Israel was committed to preserving the current situation at holy sites in East Jerusalem, the Jordanian royal court said in a statement.
Jordanian King Abdullah II on Thursday met in Amman with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Secretary of State John Kerry to discuss means of restoring calm to Jerusalem and also establishing a climate conducive to reviving stalled Palestinian-Israeli peace talks.
Netanyahu said Israel was committed to preserving the current situation at holy sites in East Jerusalem, the Jordanian royal court said in a statement.
King Abdullah, the royal court said, underlined the importance of Jordanian responsibility for Jerusalem's holy sites.
It added that the King also called for practical Israeli measures to preserve the current situation in Jerusalem, especially in Al-Aqsa Mosque. Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi had received a phone call from Jordanian King Abdullah II during the meeting in Amman, the Egyptian presidency said.
The Jordanian King had briefed the President about the consultations he made with Netanyahu and Kerry, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said in a statement on Thursday.
He added that al-Sisi had underlined the importance of reaching a final settlement for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict within the framework of the two-state solution, which leads to the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Earlier this month, Jordan – which is responsible for Jerusalem's holy sites in line with a 1994 peace treaty with Israel – recalled its ambassador in Tel Aviv to protest Israeli "violations" in East Jerusalem. Continued:

JEWISH SETTLERS STORM AL-AQSA MOSQUE COMPOUND
A handful of extremist settlers – also under Israeli police protection – performed Talmudic rituals near the Al-Rahmeh Gate, according to the Palestinian official. Dozens of Jewish extremists backed by Israeli police on Wednesday stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem, a Palestinian official has said.
"Around 40 settlers, under Israeli police protection, forced their way into the Al-Aqsa compound through the Al-Magharbeh Gate," Sheikh Azzam al-Khatib, head of the Jordan-run Organization for Muslim Endowments and Al-Aqsa Affairs, told Anadolu Agency. "The intruders, including members of the extremist 'Women for the Temple' organization, were led by hardline rabbis and wandered into the courtyards of the holy site," he said.
"The rabbis gave settlers lessons in the Talmud near the Al-Qiballi and Marwani mosques," he added.

THINGS ARE ESCALATING IN JORDAN
Samantha Davis lives in Jordan reports on War Central: Date: Monday, 22-Sep-2014 18:48:10
Each day the situation is getting worse. So far we can account for 100 arrests (20 in my town alone)and two car bombs and a speedboat incident.
Jordan times reported this: AMMAN — The army on Saturday night destroyed a jeep that tried to illegally enter the Kingdom from Iraq, a Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) source said Sunday. Warning shots were fired at the speeding vehicle, but were ignored and the driver continued to move towards the border, the source told the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
In line with the rules of engagement, the army destroyed the vehicle, according to the JAF source.
In a separate incident, the source said Royal Naval Force (RNF) personnel also foiled an attempt by a speedboat to illegally infiltrate Jordanian waters from a neighbouring state. The infiltrators, whose nationality was not disclosed, ignored the warning shots fired by the RNF and continued to approach, forcing security personnel to shoot at the vessel and halt its advance. The two Arab nationals found on the boat are currently being interrogated, according to the JAF source. Most of what is going on is not reported though. Last night 100 meters from my home ISIS placed grafitti on the prison (now closed) in multiple places in large letters about the king. This in itself would get anyone jail time or worse. To say one word against the king is forbidden. What alarms me is that it is so close to my home.
The roads are jammed with police presence everywhere. Tonight went to stock up at Safeway and half of Jordan was there. It is alarming and eirie. Guess everyone had the same ideal. Better to stock up now. We can only hope we will be ok but I happen to be in the midst of the war I fear. Samantha Davis Reporting on War Central

ISLAMIC STATE CALLS FOR THE INVASION OF JERUSALEM
NTEB News Desk | November 4, 2014 | The ultimate goal is ISIS has always been the destruction of Israel
“And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.” Luke 21:20
The allied rocket strike attacks on ISIS in Syria and Iraq have certainly slowed down their forward momentum, but has not even come close to stopping them. The Russian Times today reports that the Islamic State has seized it’s second oil field in Syria in a week:
Islamic State militants claim to have gained control of the Jahar gas field in central Homs province from the Syrian army. The militants posted pictures on social media boasting of the capture, which they now consider part of their ‘Caliphate.’ The photos depict an Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) flag raised over the field as well as captured Syrian tanks and weapons, says SITE, a jihadist web monitoring service. IS says they have captured two tanks, seven four-wheel drive cars, and several machine guns after clashes with regime forces. Last Thursday, the insurgents took control of the Sha’ar gas field, where they killed at least 30 pro-government soldiers, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
The mere fact that ISIS is still about to do that after a month of allied bombing shows you how ineffective the strikes truly are. But this battle that has been raging for months now is about one thing and one thing only – Israel. Today the Islamic State made the announcement that revealed their true intentions.

ISIS 'TO SET UP CALIPHATE IN SINAI'
As 'first step towards Jerusalem'; threatens Egyptian army.
03 November, 17:05 - CAIRO, NOVEMBER 3 – The Islamic State (ISIS) has issued a statement saying that an Islamic Caliphate will be established in the Sinai, calling it the ”first step towards the invasion of Jerusalem”. The statement threatens Egyptian security forces, which were suffered an attack on October 24. ISIS urged jihadists in the region to ”destroy police checkpoints and stations, launch RPGs at their gatherings and show the world that the Rule of God must be imposed”.
As the prophets have declared, Jerusalem is the end game in this spiritual battle. Everything that is happening right now will reach it’s true fulfillment in the battle of Armageddon during the time of Jacob’s trouble.
“Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.” Jeremiah 30:7
For now, the Islamic State seems to be on a preordained unstoppable path that began with the formation of a caliphate in Iraq and ends in an attack on Jerusalem. Just how much they will be able to accomplish only God knows. But they are giving it their best shot which so far has been surprisingly effective. These are the days written of by the prophets, the actors have taken the stage as we watch the play unfold. Birth pangs, prophecy, and the blessed hope.

SHOCK AS ITS REVEALED ISIS ARMY NOW HAS SWOLLEN TO OVER 200,000 WAR FIGHTERS
Shock As Its Revealed ISIS Army Now Has Swollen To Over 200,000 War Fighters
NTEB News Desk | November 15, 2014 | 16 Comments
A sign of the military professionalism of ISIS is the speed with which they learned to use captured US tanks, artillery and other heavy equipment captured after the fall of Mosul on 10 June.
He estimates that Isis rules a third of Iraq and a third of Syria with a population of between 10 and 12 million living in an area of 250,000 square kilometres, the same size as Great Britain. This gives the jihadis a large pool of potential recruits.
Proof that Isis has created a large field army at great speed is that it has been launching attacks against the Kurds in northern Iraq and the Iraqi army close to Baghdad at the same time as it is fighting in Syria. “They are fighting in Kobani,” said Mr Hussein. “In Kurdistan last month they were attacking in seven different places as well as in Ramadi [capital of Anbar province west of Baghdad] and Jalawla [an Arab-Kurdish town close to Iranian border]. It is impossible to talk of 20,000 men or so.”

US GENERAL - IRAQ NEEDS 80,000 GOOD TROOPS TO RETAKE LOST TERRITORY
WASHINGTON Thu Nov 13, 2014 9:47pm EST - (Reuters) - Iraq will need about 80,000 effective military troops to retake the terrain it lost to Islamic State militants and restore its border with Syria, the top U.S. general said on Thursday. "We're going to need about 80,000 competent Iraqi security forces to recapture territory lost, and eventually the city of Mosul, to restore the border," Army General Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of staff, told a congressional hearing. Dempsey said the request for more U.S. forces in Iraq would create centers to help train the additional troops needed. (Reporting by David Alexander and Phil Stewart; Editing by Doina Chiacu)

CHINA'S SILK ROAD CHALLENGES U.S. DOMINANCE IN ASIA
U.S. officials fear the new Chinese-led institutions will lend to projects that are unable to secure financing from other multilateral institutions, rendering the conditionality ineffective. "The Silk Road, no longer just a concept in history books, has evolved into a story of modern logistics and Sino-European cooperation," Yang Jiechi, China's top diplomat, told a conference this month.
The New Silk Road Economic Belt - from China across Central Asia and Russia to Europe - and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road - through the Malacca Strait to India, the Middle East and East Africa - have become the centrepiece of China's economic diplomacy. The belt and the road, as China's diplomats refer to them, are the focus of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Beijing. They aim to cement China's emerging role at the heart of the 21st century economy. Continued:

THE BELT AND THE ROAD, AS CHINA'S DIPLOMATS REFER TO THEM, ARE THE FOCUS OF THE ASIA-PACIFIC
ECONOMIC COOPERATION (APEC) SUMMIT IN BEJING.
They aim to cement China's emerging role at the heart of the 21st century economy. China's President Xi Jinping has pledged $40 billion to a new Silk Road fund for investing in infrastructure, resources and industrial and financial cooperation across Asia.
Chinese diplomats have also been busy promoting a new Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, promising to provide half of its $50 billion start-up capital, to help build ports, roads, power projects and other desperately needed infrastructure across the region.
The Silk Road fund and Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank pose a direct challenge to the traditional primacy of U.S.-dominated financial and trade institutions in the region, including the International Monetary Fund, World Bank and Asian Development Bank, all of which were set up following the U.S. victory in World War Two.
U.S. diplomats have been manoeuvring furiously to limit the impact of China's economic diplomacy. In the past month, Australia and South Korea both declined to join the new Infrastructure Investment Bank following intense lobbying from officials in Washington, which went all the way up to Secretary of State John Kerry and President Barack Obama himself.
The construction of “the Economic Belt along the Silk Road” and “the Maritime Silk Road in the 21st Century” will become a major point of penetration for China to implement a full foreign development strategy, and will have a profound significance to China’s opening up strategy in the future. ” Mr. Wang Jun, the deputy director of the Consulting & Research Department of China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE), said in a interview by a journalist from the “Securities Daily” that the construction of the economic belt would promote further common development and prosperity of China and countries along the economic belt, and help realize regional economic integration, and develop China’s new international competitive advantages. http://www.gdiex.com/news/info_93.aspx?itemid=573

CHINA LAUNCHES ASIA BANK TO CHALLENGE US-BACKED LENDERS
World Bulletin/News Desk - October 24, 2014 Australia, Indonesia and South Korea skipped the launch of a China-backed Asian infrastructure bank on Friday as the United States said it had concerns about the new rival to Western-dominated multilateral lenders.
China's $50 billion Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is seen as a challenge to the World Bank and Asian Development Bank, both multilateral lenders that count Washington and its allies as their biggest financial backers.
http://www.worldbulletin.net/haber/146922/china-launches-asia-bank-to-challenge-us-backed-lenders

-----
U.S. LEADERSHIP CHALLENGED
Officially, U.S. diplomats are concerned about governance standards at the new institutions. There are fears about the large share of the voting rights that will go to China and the willingness of the new institutions to lend for projects that do not meet the social and environmental criteria currently employed by multilateral development banks.
Under intense pressure from the United States, the World Bank and Asian Development Bank will no longer finance coal-fired power stations due to concerns about climate change. But many countries, including India, have indicated they intend to continue building coal-fired plants to bring electricity to millions of homes that are currently without secure and affordable access to modern energy.
U.S. officials fear the new Chinese-led institutions will lend to projects that are unable to secure financing from other multilateral institutions, rendering the conditionality ineffective.
But there is a deeper, unspoken fear that the new institutions will be used to enhance China's leadership at the expense of the United States and its traditional allies in Asia including Japan, South Korea and Australia.
In the run-up to the APEC summit, U.S. diplomats have sought to keep the focus on the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a proposed U.S.-led regional trade deal, rather than the broader Free Trade Area of the Asia Pacific, promoted by China.
It is part of a mounting economic, political and military competition between the United States and China across the region.
BALANCE OF ECONOMIC POWER
Asia-Pacific is not the only area where the post-war economic and financial leadership of the United States and its network of allies is being challenged.
The U.S. pivot to Asia is being matched by a similar move on the part of Russia, which has sought to reduce its dependence on the United States and Europe by upgrading its economic ties with China. In the past six months, Russia has signed two major deals to supply natural gas to China, which has become Russia's most important trading partner.
In July 2014, China, Russia, India and Brazil reached agreement on a $100 billion New Development Bank to be headquartered in Shanghai. China and Russia have also been busy promoting economic and military ties across Central Asia through the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
The major financial and economic institutions, which experts sometimes call the "international financial architecture", no longer correspond to the balance of power and the shifting centre of gravity in the world economy.
The International Monetary Fund, World Bank and regional development banks are all dominated by the United States and its allies in terms of voting rights, capital structure, headquarters location and staffing.
Efforts to reform them to give a greater role to China and the other fast-growing developing economies have largely proved unfruitful.
The multilateral lending institutions are severely undercapitalised and have nowhere near enough resources to meet the enormous infrastructure needs across Asia, Africa and Latin America.
The result is that many multilateral institutions appear to be outdated, too small and entrenched in colonialist approaches to development.
TRADE AND FINANCIAL FLOWS
There is still an assumption that economies of developing countries are defined by their relationship with their more developed counterparts. But that world has vanished over the last decade.
More than half the exports from developing economies were sent to other developing economies in 2013, according to the World Trade Organization ("International Trade Statistics 2014").
Countries in Asia sent more than 60 percent of their exports to other nations in Asia and to Africa and the Middle East, compared with just over 15 percent each to North America and Europe.
As the world's greatest export powerhouse, China has accumulated vast foreign exchange reserves and is now becoming a major supplier of capital.
Prior to the financial crisis, that capital was tied up passively and uselessly in U.S. Treasury bonds. Now China wants to use its capital more productively to invest in infrastructure in its major trading partners and at the same time buy more economic and political influence.
There is nothing new in the idea that countries seek to turn financial capital into political power. Britain pursued the same approach in the 19h century, and the United States has done so successfully since World War Two.
Market access and capital can all be traded for various forms of influence. The Marshall Plan traded U.S. economic assistance in European reconstruction for a pro-American orientation in European foreign policy.
As the balance of power within the global economy shifts, it is inevitable that the international economic architecture will have to evolve.
Some western foreign policy specialists have naively assumed that emerging markets would become integrated into existing post-war, western-dominated structures of power and governance.
But it was always at least as likely that those institutions would have to adapt and change to accommodate the rising economic and financial power of emerging markets.
Just as access to American markets and capital was once a key component of U.S. diplomacy, China is now employing its financial and trade muscle to win friends and influence.

GEMMA'S VISIT
by Barry Chamish - It is mid-November '14, and my exile from Israel in a not unpleasant north Florida city is broken by a visit from Gemma Blech, the photographer of my book Bye Bye Gaza; http://www.lulu.com/content/575116
She meets with a broken writer; I suffered a minor stroke barely a month ago and through ridiculous circumstances broke 3 ribs barely a week before. I suffer through more than mere intimations of my own mortality. I feel it coming soon. She asks, "Do you remember how we first met?" I had forgotten but her lively memory brought me back to the early days of "peace." Israel had just signed away the Sinai in the Wye Accord, I knew it was step one to its end and I printed and publicized Israeli flags in black to protest. Gemma had to have one and invited me to her home in the French Hill district of Jerusalem.
And she was not alone. Another flag buyer became my writing partner, Joel Bainerman. He died a few months ago aged 57. The cause was his seminal work on Iran Contra, Crimes Of A President, published in 1992, barely two months before my book, The Fall Of Israel (Canongate Publishers, Edinburgh, Scotland), which documented the country's fatal sell-out. Both books exposed the finagling of Israeli Prime Minister and later President, Shimon Peres, in the deliberate deception that led to Oslo "peace," and our uncannily close partnership led to a long article in March '97 in the conservative stalwart The National Review entitled The Peres Gambit.
We were so young and naive. We actually believed that truthful journalism published at the highest level could make a difference and save our nation from an inevitable demise. Stupid us. Had Joel chosen a career in life insurance sales he'd be alive today. Had I gone for a lucrative career in corporate advertising I'd be looking forward to my best days in a retirement filled with do-gooder hobbies justified by a good show when I had my best mental faculties.
Instead, Joel's last days were spent alone and far from Israel in Cyprus while I suspect the same fate awaits me shortly in Florida.
Gemma, Joel and I formed a most unlikely alliance fighting to save our land. I sadly have concluded we were suckers and ruined our lives for Israel.
"Nonsense," she insisted. "The truth is coming out at last..." both in the underground:
"Starting in June 1991, Peres had sent Yossi Beilin to Egypt four times to make an agreement with the PLO. At the King Hotel in Cairo, Beilin offered Said Kamal and Mahmud Abbas, two Arafat aides, a deal; in return for the PLO shifting Arab-Israeli votes to Labor in the upcoming national elections, the Labor party would cancel the law which forbids meetings with the PLO, freeze Jewish settlements, and give recognition to something close to a state. The meetings were reported in the Israeli daily Hadashot by Arab affairs analyst, Yehoshua Mieri, and by two Egyptian newspapers, Al-Gomhouriya and Al-Wafd " http://rense.com/general23/chm.htm"
And in the mainstream media which mocked Peres for his deceitful epitaph at a Rabin memorial this year in a knowing, he murdered him, poke-poke, jab-jab way.
Oh Gemma. Really? Way back in the hopeful days, just before the Gaza pullout, the "settlers" actually believed Sharon was on their side and would never force them from their homes, but we were getting data from the top that betrayal was on the way:
"A decade later Joel Bainerman and I spent an afternoon interviewing Menachem's son, Benny Begin. He was very coy with the facts we sought but, nonetheless, provided vital testimony. His father's war had been fought
mostly to reverse a deal reached by Kissinger, Rabin and Syrian President Assad in 1975. Assad wanted Israel off the Golan Heights, Rabin couldn't deliver so Kissinger came up with a neat idea. Syria wanted Lebanon just
as much, so let's give her it. We'll ignite a civil war and Israel will allow Syrian troops in to bring peace. [email ]

POPE TO GIVE FINAL MARCHING ORDER TO PRESIDENT PERES
by Barry Chamish - Pope Francis: ... "I wish to invite you, president Mahmud Abbas, together with President Shimon Peres, to join me in heartfelt prayer to God for the gift of peace," he said at the end of an open-air mass in Manger Square in Bethlehem.
"I offer my home in the Vatican as a place for this encounter of prayer," he said. "Building peace is difficult, but living without peace is a constant torment. The men and women of these lands, and of the entire world, all of them, ask us to bring before God their fervent hopes for peace."
Peres, according to Leah Rabin in her autobiography, was educated in a Jesuit school in Poland. The underhistory only gets worse. Jesuit Pope Francis commemorates the Franciscan Order, which along with the Benedictines, organized Operation Paperclip in the late '40s to hide over 100,000 Nazis in their seminaries, give them new identities, and ship them to freedom largely in South America. The Vatican saved the Nazis, while Israel is its lengthening history has convicted only one nazi in its courts.
Perhaps, given what has been done to them in living memory, we can explain the utter lack of reasoning among the Jews, even at their highest levels. Look at this wacky reportage of a publicized incident of the papal tour by the editor of The Jerusalem Post:
In one of his blander pronouncements during the papal visit, Netanyahu mentioned on Monday that Jesus spoke Hebrew. There was nothing incorrect about Netanyahu's statement. Jesus was after all, an Israeli Jew. But Francis couldn't take the truth. So he indelicately interrupted his host, interjecting, "Aramaic."
Netanyahu was probably flustered. True, at the time, educated Jews spoke and wrote in Aramaic. And Jesus was educated. But the language of the people was Hebrew. And Jesus preached to the people, in Hebrew.
This is so wrong, it borders on total delusion. Educated Jews spoke Hebrew in religious ceremonies but Aramaic was the common language of Israeli Jews at the time of Jesus. Creating false history has made Jews accessories to their own recent disasters. Peres, who has never sincerely prayed to any G-d known to the Jews, is not going to the Vatican to pray with any pope. Time is running out, Peres didn't deliver the Vatican their "properties," and he is going to Rome to get his final marching orders. - See more at: http://www.barrychamish.com/Newsletters_2014/

EU PREPARES TO IMPOSE CRUSHING SANCTIONS ON ISRAEL
October 13, 2014 | Thomas Rose Share - Even as details of the latest ISIS plot to behead innocents on the streets of London emerges, the
machinery of the European Union’s massive bureaucracy is well along its plan to impose crippling economic and cultural sanctions on Israel if the Jewish state does not agree to unilaterally withdraw behind the 1949 Armistice lines. The Times of Israel and other sources are now reporting that EU officials are preparing a far reaching list of sanctions that can be imposed against Israel whenever the EU’s political
leadership decides to proceed with efforts to economically devastate the small but heavily trade-dependent Jewish state.
The essence and purpose of the plan, coming just weeks after the end of Hamas’ 50 day terror war against Israel, is not only to punish Israel economically but to deprive the small but vibrant democracy of its political legitimacy; something that the international community, including the
EU, extends to virtually every other country on earth, including Cuba, North Korea, and Iran.
The revelations of the latest EU plans come on the heels of Sweden’s decision earlier this week to become the first sitting member of the 28 nation EU to recognize the so-called “State of Palestine." Four Eastern European members of the EU voted to recognize “Palestine” in the 1980's
when they were Warsaw Pact puppet states firmly in the orbit of the former Soviet Union.
The latest “Israeli outrage” to which the EU and others, including US President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, are taking such offense, is the announcement by the Israel Lands Authority to solicit private sector tenders for the construction of roughly 2600 apartment units
slated to be built in Jerusalem’s burgeoning Givat Hamatos neighborhood. In fact, there is nothing at all new in these plans, which have long been a part of Jerusalem’s municipal development plan and were first announced more than three years ago. ABBAS HAS SLAMMED THE DOOR SHUT ON THE PEACE PROCESS
At the moment, Abbas has slammed the door shut on the peace process. Meanwhile, Netanyahu has not declared a day of national mourning. He has had his fill as well. "The Palestinians have realized," a high-ranking Palestinian official told me at the start of October, "that they have
nothing more to look for in their negotiations with the Jews. It's a waste of time. We would be better off approaching the international community directly and try to break the impasse there."
And Netanyahu? On the one hand, he feels somewhat relieved. Negotiations do not agree with him. He loses ground with the right wing, taking heavy flak from his own Likud Party while enhancing the standing of Minister of Economy and Trade Naftali Bennett and Foreign Minister Avigdor
Liberman. As far as Netanyahu is concerned, the negotiations can disappear forever. On the flip side, however, this is a perilous notion, and Netanyahu should break into a sweat at reviewing such a scenario.
What the Palestinians are planning to do in lieu of negotiations is to approach the UN Security Council with a detailed resolution to establish an independent Palestinian state side by side with Israel. Abbas, who is almost 80 years old, would not have reached such a ripe age or
attained his position had he not been a foxy, wise and calculating person.
His resolution proposal will incorporate all the things the Americans have already agreed to during the long years of negotiations. The United States will find it hard to object to such a proposal, because it does not contain anything substantive that it has not already supported.
Abbas' working assumption, however, is that in the end, the United States will veto the resolution. Continued: http://www.prophecynewswatch.com/2014/October13/133.html

FORMER US SECRETARY OF STATE HENRY KISSINGER HAS GIVEN A CHILLING ASSESSMENT OF A NEW GEOPOLITICAL SITUATION TAKING SHAPE AMID UKRANIAN CRISIS, WARNING OF A POSSIBLE NEW COLD WAR AND CALLING THE WEST'S APPROACH TO THE CRISIS A "FATAL MISTAKE."
November 12, 2014 - The 91-year-old diplomat characterized the tense relations as exhibiting the danger of “another Cold War.”
“This danger does exist and we can't ignore it,” Kissinger said. He warned that ignoring this danger any further may result in a “tragedy,” he told Germany’s Der Spiegel.
Europe may become irrelevant due to short-sighted policies – Gorbachev
If the West wants to be “honest,” it should recognize, that it made a “mistake,” he said of the course of action the US and the EU adopted in the Ukrainian conflict. Europe and the US did not understand the “significance of events” that started with the Ukraine-EU economic negotiations that initially brought about the demonstrations in Kiev last year. Those tensions should have served as a starting point to include Russia in the discussion, he believes.

SHALOM DEAR PARTNER AND FRIEND OF ISRAEL
“Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord.” - Exodus14:13
We are certainly living in interesting but dangerous times. BUT, in everything God is in control! No situation or event can take place without His knowledge and it is comforting to know that He is on our side. This month’s Newsletter is called “ Gaza in Prophetic End-Times” and the teaching is called “The Coming Shemitah (Sabbatical) and Jubilee Year” is very significant. If you look back at our Newsletter dated March 2013 you will see exactly how “The Coming Blood Moons” of 2014/2015 is connected.
It appears that as one part of the Middle East quiets down with the “fragile truce” between Israel and Hamas, another starts up. The radical Islamic terror organization, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), has gained a larger foothold in Lebanon as it faces off against the Lebanese army. Israel has been keeping a close eye on ISIS activities as their jihadist’s threat looms closer to Israel ’s borders. In Gaza , there is growing evidence that ISIS has established a foothold there despite denial by Hamas.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has compared Hamas to other terrorist groups, such as al-Qaeda and ISIS and yet others have said ISIS is even worse than Hamas. Hamas has very successfully marketed itself as the national liberation movement of the Palestinian people. It is true that it has the so-called Palestinian agenda, but the major essence of the organization is its religious one … a very radical Islamic Sunni identity.
Hamas and other Islamists terrorist groups that you see around the world, such as Boko Haram in Nigeria , al-Shabaab in Somalia , al Qaeda all stem from the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood. Although the Muslim Brotherhood presents itself as a social-economic reform movement, it is the ideological incubator of these horrific organizations you see now.
The West is finding it very hard to understand the full meaning of this transition from the secular political violent agenda to the religious political violent agenda! These groups have not only declared war on the U.S. but on Western civilization. That is why they are defined as the Judeo-Crusader alliance which means that they want to destroy Jews and Christians. This is a religious war and Hamas is part of it. It shares the full vision of the ISIS caliphate.
Hamas is part of these Islamist groups that have declared total war against the West. It is not as strong as the others… but Hamas today has more than 50,000 men and about 25,000 are hardcore combatants. They are using the local civilian infrastructure (in the Gaza Strip) as a firebase against Israel , and in so doing are committing a double war crime …both against their own people and against Israel . According to international law, the moment you turn any civilian infrastructure into a firebase, it becomes a legitimate target for reprisal. You cannot seek immunity by firing rockets from a school or a mosque, and then whine that Israel is firing back. [Email]

ISRAELI MOVE IN EAST JERUSALEM DRAWS US CONCERN
By JOSEF FEDERMAN - JERUSALEM (AP) 11.12.2014 — Israeli authorities gave preliminary approval Wednesday to build 200 homes in a Jewish area of east Jerusalem, a move that threatened to push Israelis and Palestinians deeper into conflict after weeks of unrest over the city's holiest sites. The announcement came hours before U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry was scheduled to arrive in neighboring Jordan on a mission aimed in part at restoring calm. A State Department spokeswoman said Washington was "deeply concerned" by the decision.
Much of the recent violence has stemmed from tensions surrounding Jerusalem's hilltop complex that is revered by Muslims and Jews. The collapse of U.S.-brokered peace talks, Israel's war last summer in the Gaza Strip against the Islamic militant group Hamas, and continued Israeli settlement construction in east Jerusalem have added to the distrust.
Brachie Sprung, a spokeswoman in the mayor's office, said city officials approved 200 homes in the Ramot area. Sprung said it was just a preliminary stage of the planning process — meaning construction would be years away.
She also said city officials approved an additional 174 homes for construction in an Arab neighborhood. To Israelis, the announcement was relatively harmless. Ramot is a sprawling development already home to about 70,000 people, and most Israelis assume the area will remain part of Israel under any future peace agreement.
In the current tense climate, however, any Israeli construction for Jewish areas of east Jerusalem is potentially explosive.

WAVE OF VIOLENCE FUELS ISRAELI-PALESTINIAN TENSION
Brendan Smialowski - November 11, 2014 - JERUSALEM (AP) — It has been a difficult year for Israelis and Palestinians, with the failure of peace talks and a string of violent incidents that shows no signs of ending. Here is a look at some key recent events:
April 24: Nine months of U.S.-mediated peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians collapse.
May 15: Two Palestinian teens are killed in a West Bank clash with Israeli troops on the day that Palestinians mark their uprooting during the Mideast war over Israel's 1948 creation. Video footage indicates the teens were not participating in violence at the time of shooting.
June 2: A Palestinian unity government is sworn in, a major step in reconciliation between the rival Fatah and Hamas factions. Israel denounces the government because it includes Hamas.
June 12: Three Israeli teenagers — Eyal Yifrah, 19, Gilad Shaar, 16, and Naftali Fraenkel, a 16-year-old with dual Israeli-American citizenship — are abducted and killed by Hamas operatives in the West Bank.
June 13: Israel launches a broad military operation to locate the teens, arresting hundreds of Hamas members in a crackdown over several weeks. Hamas militants in Gaza respond with rocket attacks... Nov. 5: A Hamas militant slams a minivan into a crowd waiting for a train in Jerusalem, killing two people. Earlier in day, clashes had erupted at the Jerusalem holy site.
Nov. 8: Israeli police shoot and kill an Arab Israeli protester at a demonstration in northern Israel. Video indicates the man was walking away from the officer at the time of the shooting.
Nov. 10: Palestinian attackers kill two Israelis in stabbing attacks in Tel Aviv and the West Bank. http://globegazette.com/news/world/wave-of-violence-fuels-israeli-palestinian-tension/

ISLAMISTS IN THE SINAI PENINSULA HAVE FORMED TIES WITH ISIS AND, CLOSER TO HOME, WITH HAMAS AND SALFIST GROUPS IN THE GAZA STRIP
What kind of relations do the jihadists of northern Sinai and Gaza have with Islamic State, and with Hamas? Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi declared a three-month national emergency this week, following the killing of over 31 Egyptian soldiers in a suicide car bombing carried out by jihadists in northern Sinai.
No organization has issued an authoritative claim of responsibility for the bombing, but it comes amid a state of open insurgency in northern Sinai, as Egyptian security forces battle a number of jihadist organizations. Most prominent among these groups are Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis and Majlis Shura al-Mujahideen; the attack on the Sinai military base came a few days after an Egyptian court sentenced seven members of Ansar Beit al-Maqdis to death for carrying out previous attacks on the army.
In subsequent days, Egyptian officials pointed an accusing finger at the Hamas rulers of Gaza, asserting there is “no doubt that elements belonging to Palestinian factions were directly involved in the attack.” Cairo is now set to build a new barrier separating the Strip from northern Sinai.
In a number of Arabic media outlets, unnamed Egyptian government sources openly accused Hamas members of aiding the assault, assisting with planning, funding and weapons supply. Continued:

THE ULTMATE GOAL IS ISIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE DESTRUCTION OF ISRAEL
