TWO ISRAELI LEADERS MAKE THE IRAN ISSUE THEIR OWN
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sat facing Defense Minister Ehud Barak during a cabinet meeting this month in Jerusalem.
By ETHAN BRONNER - Published: March 27, 2012 - JERUSALEM - Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak have turned into the odd couple of Israeli politics in whose hands sits the prospect of an attack on Iran. From opposite political traditions with distinct experiences and worldviews, the two have forged a tight bond, often excluding the rest of the Israeli leadership. Continued:

A WRITTEN PEACE AGREEMENT MEANS WAR!
By Jimmy DeYoung - Israeli President Shimon Peres has warned that a written peace agreement on Jerusalem will cause a world war to break out. Israeli Knesset member and former Chief of Staff for the IDF, Shaul Mofaz says that the prospects of war is inevitable if through diplomatic moves, the UN declares a Palestinian state based on its own unilateral definition of its borders, this also would cause a major conflict in the region. As world leaders work at bringing resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through the peace process, the whole process seems to be moving closer to a major conflict breaking out in the region. Recent warnings from Israeli officials that the Middle East process could lead to a world war is right in line with the end times scenario that can be found in Bible prophecy. There will only be true peace in the Middle East and world wide when the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, comes back. Hollis Caravetta E-mail: Holliscar@aol.com

U.S. ASKED RUSSIA TO WARN IRAN OF 'LAST CHANCE'
www.haaretz.com - Clinton reportedly told her Russian counterpart to rely message to Tehran that it must engage in talks with world powers or face a military strike within months, according to Russian daily Kommersant. The United States has asked Russia to deliver an ultimatum to Iran, warning the Islamic Republic that it has one last chance for talks before a military strike, the Kommersant daily quoted Russian diplomats according to the Russian newspaper.
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton asked her Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in New York on Monday to tell Tehran that it has one last chance to solve the conflict peacefully by making progress in the talks with the P5+1 group - United States, Britain, France, Russia, China, and Germany. Otherwise, an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities will occur within months, the diplomats said. The report in Kommersant did not give further details regarding the kind of military action the U.S. was threatening, but quoted Russian diplomats at the UN as saying they believe that it is a "matter of when, not if" Israel would strike Iran's nuclear facilities.
Last week, Clinton said that there is still space for diplomacy to resolve Iran's nuclear standoff with the West shortly after European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton announced that the P5+1 group agreed to restart talks with Iran. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a series of television interviews, said that an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities could take place within months. "We're not standing with a stopwatch in hand," he said. "It's not a matter of days or weeks, but also not of years. The result must be removal of the threat of nuclear weapons in Iran's hands."
Netanyahu met with U.S. President Barack Obama and tried to pressure him to harden his tone on Iran. Netanyahu told Obama that he had not yet made any decision about whether to attack Iran's nuclear facilities, though he made it clear he did not rule out such a move in the future. In statements to the press both before and after the meeting Netanyahu said Israel has the sovereign right to defend itself against Iran.

PEACE PROCESS 'A WASTE OF TIME'
Former PA prime minister Ahmed Queria says Israel must capitulate to PA demands or be faced with a 'multiethnic' one-state solution
By Gabe Kahn First Publish: 4/23/2012, 8:32 PM - Ahmed Qureia (Abu Ala) The former Palestinian Authority Prime Minister, Ahmed Qureia, said Monday that the Israeli-PA peace process is "no more than a waste of time." Qureia insisted that Israel's decision not to halt construction in Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem for a second time made peace talks impossible.
"If this is the policy, I think it is a big lie to talk about the two-state solution,” he told The Associated Press. “They are killing the opportunity of two-state solution. If it dies ... one state is one of the choices."
He implied the PA may drop the "two-state solution" outlined in the 1993 Oslo Accords that would result in two states "Israel and Palestine" existing next to one another.
Instead, he said, the PA might seek "a multi-ethnic state covering all of historic Palestine, including Israel." Continued:

By Avi Issacharoff Communication channels between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Salam Fayyad are completely cut off, Al Quds Al Arabi reported on Sunday in London. HAMAS HOLDS SECRET ELECTION, PICKS HANIYEH AS HEAD OF GAZA POLITBURO
Published 24.04.12 - Speaking to Haaretz, sources in the militant group say 'moderate' members failed to make supreme Hamas council in Strip; Haniyeh is the first recognized Hamas head in Gaza since Israel killed Abdel Aziz al-Rantissi in 2004. The win in effect makes Haniyeh the Strip's first recognized Hamas political leader since Israel's assassination of Hamas' former Gaza political chief Abdel Aziz al-Rantissi in 2004.
Speaking to Haaretz, Hamas officials said that the utterly covert elections were held less than two weeks ago, in which voters elected the 77 members of the group's advisory council in Gaza, as well as the 15 members of the Strip's Hamas politburo, Gaza's most powerful political institution. U.S. 'CONCERNED' ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY OF PALESTINIAN INSTITUTIONS
HAARETZ Published 22:37 20.03.12 State Department spokeswoman: A strong Palestinian Authority is in the interest of both the Palestinians and the Israelis.
By Natasha Mozgovaya - U.S. State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said on Tuesday that the U.S. is concerned about the condition of the Palestinian Authority institutions, which was highlighted in the report prepared by Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to be presented Wednesday at a donor meeting on Palestinian aid in Brussels. The report claims that the Palestinian Authority is not sufficiently stable to meet the standards of a well-functioning state.
"We are concerned about the fact that we haven't been able to provide full funding," Nuland said. "We want to continue to work together as a Quartet community on how we can improve the long-term sustainability of Palestinian institution-building projects and how the Palestinian Authority can get stronger in meeting the full range of civil and security needs of their people now and in the future. So this is something that we need to work on together. We think it's in the interest of Palestinians. It's in the interest of Israelis". Continued: http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/

FATAH: IRAN PAID HAMAS TO BLOCK PALESTINIAN UNITY DEAL
HAARETZ Published 18:39 20.03.12 Fatah spokesman says Iran recently resumed financial aid to Hamas which had been suspended half a year ago over Hamas' failure to back the Assad regime in Syria. By Reuters - Iran paid the Islamist group Hamas to block a deal with the rival Fatah movement that would have ended a five-year rift between the two main Palestinian factions, a Fatah spokesman said on Tuesday.
He said Tehran recently resumed financial aid to Hamas which it had suspended six months ago over the Palestinian movement's failure to back their mutual ally President Bashar Assad of Syria in his military campaign to crush dissent.
Hamas has since turned overtly against Assad. But, according to Fatah, Iran is more concerned with supporting the armed Palestinian movement that is ready to challenge Israel from its Gaza Strip stronghold...
Unity deal dead - Assaf said that by visiting Tehran, the Palestinian officials aimed to send a message to Hamas's exiled supreme leader Khaled Meshal, who had agreed the reconciliation deal, that the Gaza Strip leaders of Hamas were the ones now in control of the movement.
Meshal abandoned his Damascus headquarters months ago as it became politically impossible for him to ignore the fact that Assad's crackdown was killing thousands of fellow Sunni Muslims.
Backed by Egypt, he signed a long-awaited Hamas-Fatah reconciliation agreement last month with Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas, the Western-backed Palestinian president. Continued: http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/fatah-iran-paid-hamas-to-block-palestinian-unity-deal-1.419788

OBAMA: NO REASON FOR U.S.AND IRAN TO BE DIVIDED
Published 20.03.12 U.S. President Barack Obama directly appeals to the Iranian people in video message marking the Persian new year; rebukes Iranian government for creating 'electronic curtain' around its people. By The Associated Press and Nir Hasson
President Barack Obama on Tuesday made a direct appeal to the Iranian people, saying there was "no reason for the United States and Iran to be divided from one another."
In a video message marking the Persian new year, known as Nowruz, Obama said the U.S. seeks a dialogue with the Iranian people in order hear their views and understand their aspirations. And he sharply rebuked the Iranian government for setting up an "electronic curtain" around its people that the U.S. says blocks access to much of the outside world.
U.S. President Barack Obama
"Increasingly, the Iranian people are denied the basic freedom to access the information that they want," Obama said. "Instead, the Iranian government jams satellite signals to shut down television and radio broadcasts. It censors the Internet to control what the Iranian people can see and say. The regime monitors computers and cell phones for the sole purpose of protecting its own power."

U.S. WAR GAME PREDICTS ISRAELI STRIKE ON IRAN WILL RESULT IN REGIONAL WAR, HUNDREDS OF AMERICANS DEAD
By Haaretz Published 05:45 20.03.12 New York Times report says war simulation has raised fears among top American officials that it may be impossible to prevent American involvement in any escalating confrontation with Iran.A classified war simulation exercise held earlier this month by the United States estimated that a strike on Iran would lead to a regional war which could draw in the United States and leave hundreds of Americans dead, a New York Times report revealed on Monday night.
According to the report, top American officials said the so-called war game was not designed as a rehearsal for American military action, and emphasized that the results were not the only possible outcome of a potential conflict. However, the report also stated that the simulation has raised fears among top American planners that it may be impossible to prevent American involvement in any escalating confrontation with Iran, the officials said.
The New York Times report further revealed that the results of the war game were especially troubling to General James N. Mattis, who commands American forces in the Middle East, Persian Gulf and Southwest Asia, and who told aides, upon the conclusion of the exercise, that an Israeli first-strike could have dire consequences for the region and for United States forces stationed there. By REUTERS 13/02/2012 jpost The commander of US naval forces in the region says US navy can prevent Iran from blocking Strait of Hormuz; "They've increased the number of submarines, fast attack craft," Vice Admiral Mark Fox says.
MANAMA - Iran has built up its naval forces in the Gulf and prepared boats that could be used in suicide attacks, but the US Navy can prevent it from blocking the Strait of Hormuz, the commander of US naval forces in the region said on Sunday.
Iran has made a series of threats in recent weeks to disrupt shipping in the Gulf or strike US forces in retaliation if its oil trade is shut down by sanctions, or if its disputed nuclear program comes under attack.
"They have increased the number of submarines ... they increased the number of fast attack craft," Vice Admiral Mark Fox told reporters. "Some of the small boats have been outfitted with a large warhead that could be used as a suicide explosive device. The Iranians have a large mine inventory."
"We have watched with interest their development of long range rockets and short, medium and long range ballistic missiles and of course ... the development of their nuclear program," Fox, who heads the US Fifth Fleet, said at a briefing on the fleet's base in the Gulf state of Bahrain.Iran now has 10 small submarines, he said. PALESTINIAN GROUPS THREATEN ITALIAN 'ISRAEL WEEK'
Menachem Gantz Published: 06.06.11, 11:13 / Israel News - Police refuse to secure Israeli exhibit at central Milan square due to online threats to 'ignite' city Italian police have refused to handle security for an Israeli exhibit at a central Milan square next week due to threats of violence by Palestinian activists, Yedioth Ahronoth reported Monday.
The exhibit, set to take place at Piazza Duomo, has been planned in honor of 'Israel Week' in the city. It includes 15 towers showcasing Israeli culture, technology, agriculture, economics, and art "to present the unfamiliar Israel".
But pro-Palestinian organizations are threatening to target the exhibit. Over the past few days the groups have been urging internet users to sign a petition to cancel the exhibit.
Web posters issued by the groups threaten to "ignite the city" and say, "No to Israeli occupation of Milano".
The exhibit has received all necessary permits from Milan's municipality, but political turmoil surrounding the election process in the city have apparently short-circuited communications between the municipality and police, who say officers stationed at the open-air plaza will have difficulty securing the area in the event violence breaks out.
On Monday the municipality was preparing to hold a conference that could end with orders to move the exhibit to a closed space. Continued: http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4078855,00.html

HOW THE WORLD FEELS ABOUT JEWS
IN an interview published in the New York World February 17, 1921, Mr. Henry Ford put the case for the "Protocols of Zion" tersely and convincingly. He said: "The only statement I care to make about the Protocols is that they fit in with what is going on. They are sixteen years old and they have fitted the world situation up to this time. They fit it now." He made this statement when Jewish leaders and the Jewish Press in America were fulminating against a series of articles printed in Ford's newspaper The Dearborn Independent during the years 1920 to 1922. After some years of pressure such as only organized Jewry can conceive or inflict, Henry Ford was made to apologise to Jewry in a letter addressed to Louis Marshall, then leader of the American Jewish Committee, dated June 30, 1927. Ford's apology was abject, but neither then nor since did he ever deny the truth of the articles. THE INTERNATIONAL JEW - CONTENT: http://www.biblebelievers.org.au/intern_jew.htm

US ONE OF NATION'S OLDEST, LARGEST FOOD CO-OPS HOLDING VOTE ON BANNING ISRAELI PRPDUCTS
Posted on March 26, 2012 at 12:37pm by Erica Ritz - New York’s Park Slope Food Co-Op, one of the oldest and biggest of its kind, is holding a vote Tuesday to determine whether it will hold a referendum on boycotting goods from Israel. The New York Post explains:
Some anti-Israel members want products made in Israel off the trendy Brooklyn food-cooperative’s shelves in protest of that country’s occupation of Palestinian territories. However, others say the idea stinks of anti-Semitism and goes against the 39-year-old Union Street co-op’s mission statement of commitment to ‘diversity and equality.’ If a majority of members attending shoot the down the referendum proposal, it’s dead and the co-op can continue selling Israel-imported products like the popular-selling Sodastream seltzer maker, bath salts and paprika.
But if there’s enough support, the issue will be decided in the coming months through a mail-ballot referendum distributed to [the] co-op’s 16,000 members. The attempted boycott is part of an international advocacy effort called the “Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions Movement,“ or ”BDS,” which is modeled after the international boycott against South African apartheid. BDS VOTED DOWN IN PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN FOOD CO-OP
A victory against anti-Israelis: Brooklyn's Park Slope Food Co-Op has voted down a referendum to join the international BDS movement.
By Chana Ya'ar Free Daily Israel Report - BDS Voted Down in Park Slope, Brooklyn Food Co-op
First Publish: 3/28/2012, 9:48 AM - A victory against pro-Palestinian Authority agitators to clear the shelves of Israeli products took place Tuesday night when members of the Park Slope Food Co-Op voted down a proposed referendum to join the international BDS movement against the Jewish State. The vote, 1005-653, put a stop to anti-Israel efforts by the international Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement to infiltrate the upscale Brooklyn neighborhood.
The co-op had issued a statement asking members to vote on whether to hold a referendum on joining the international BDS movement against Israel. In its statement, the co-op described BDS as a 'non-violent' tactic to end Israel's 'violent and illegal occupation' of Palestinian Authority Arab lands, and to help PA Arabs 'gain equal rights, and achieve peace, freedom and economic stability.'
Among those who publicly spoke out against the proposed ban were New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, City Council Speaker Christine c. Quinn, and several potential mayoral candidates in the upcoming race for leadership in the Big Apple. Continued: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/154240#.T3MiHoHvx0Q

ISLAMIC GROUPS THROUGHOUT THE MIDDLE EAST ARE PREPARING FOR A 'JERUSALEM MARCH'.
As Arab fervor builds for this march on Jerusalem, one can only wonder if the obsession to attack Jerusalem as foretold in Zechariah 12 is beginning to set in amongst Israel's most implacable enemies?
NEWS BRIEF: "Arabs prepare for 'Jerusalem March' ", YNET News, 3.29.2012
Arabs prepare for 'Jerusalem March'
Hundreds of thousands of people expected to take part in pro-Palestinian protest over weekend; marches to be held across region. Anti-Israel fly-in taking shape - Ynet reporters Published: 03.29.12, 00:56 / Israel News - Turbulent weekend in cards? International supporters and hundreds of thousands of participants are expected to take part in the Global March on Jerusalem Friday, as Israel braces for potential attempts to breach the Jewish state's borders.. The event, which is expected to include marches and protests across the region, is entering its final preparations, as IDF forces are also deploying in a bid to prevent any disruptions on Israel's borders.
The IDF is preparing for the possibility that attempts will be made to breach Israel's borders. The forces have been directed to prevent any beaches of Israeli sovereignty with minimal injuries to the protestors, if they do approach the border.
Sources within the defense establishment have conducted talks with Palestinian security officials to coordinate the events and make sure they remain within the jurisdiction of Palestinian towns.
Sa'id Yakin, one of the protest organizers in the Palestinian Authority, told Ynet that rallies will be held at three West Bank focal points.
"We expect thousands of participants," Yakin said. "We have no interest in confrontation, and this march will not give rise to a third Intifada. We hope this move will affect Israel and its government's policy." Continued:

MUSLIMS STONE CHRISTIANS ON THE TEMPLE MOUNT
Friday Church News Notes, March 2, 2012, www.wayoflife.org - The following is excerpted from Israel Today, Feb. 19, 2012: "A mob of some 50 Palestinian Muslims stoned a group of Christian tourists atop Jerusalem’s Temple Mount on Sunday morning. Three of the Israeli police officers who acted to protect the Christian group were wounded by the stone-throwers. Police arrested 11 Palestinians, several of them minors, for their role in the attack. The attack is believed to have been instigated by the former Muslim mufti of Jerusalem, Ekrama Sabri, who told Palestinian media over the weekend that Jewish groups were planning to break into the mosques that occupy the holy compound and desecrate them. Sabri urged all local Muslims to protect the mosques from ‘the Israeli conspiracy against the city and its holy places.’ Muslim religious figures regularly claim that Israel is plotting to destroy the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa Mosque to pave the way for the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple, which the Muslims now insist never previously existed. Because of the constant threat of Muslim violence, and despite the fact that the Temple Mount is the most holy place on earth to Jews and many Christians, the Israeli police comply with Muslim demands for harsh restrictions on non-Muslim visitors to the site. For instance, Jews and Christians are forbidden to carry Bibles atop the Temple Mount or to utter even silent prayers within its walls. Jews and Christians are regularly detained for violating these conditions." http://www.wayoflife.org

NETANYAHU ASKED PANETTA TO APPROVE SALE OF BUNKER-BUSTING BOMBS
U.S. official says 06 Mar 2012 Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu requested the United States approve the sale of advanced refueling aircraft as well as GBU-28 bunker-piercing bombs to Israel during a recent meeting with Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, a top U.S. official said on Tuesday. The American official said that U.S. President Barack Obama instructed Panetta to work directly with Defense Minister Ehud Barak on the matter, indicating that the U.S. administration was inclined to look favorably upon the request as soon as possible. During the administration of former U.S. President [sic] George Bush, the U.S. refused to sell bunker-penetrating bombs and refueling aircrafts to Israel, as a result of American estimates that Israel would then use them to strike Iran's nuclear facilities. ISRAEL MISSING ON ESPN, BUT 'PALESTINE' PRESENT
Non-existent country has name listed throughout online sports site
Published: 03/04/2012 at 6:20 PM - by Joe KovacsEmail The country of Israel is missing from at least part of ESPN’s website, while Palestine is included throughout, raising the eyebrows of some sports fans since Israel is an existing country and Palestine is not. Israel is not included among countries in part of ESPN's TV listings, while "Palestine" is.
A drop-down menu at the top right of the page has countries listed in alphabetical order. On the list are Hungary, Iceland, Iran and Ireland, immediately followed by Italy, Jordan and Kazakhstan. Though Israel might be expected to appear between Ireland and Italy, it’s not found anywhere on the list, though Palestine is included, between Oman and Poland. Despite Israel’s absence from that portion of ESPN’s site, the country is found in other places where it’s included in other drop-down menus, including here.

ISRAEL SHELVES IRAN MILITARY OPTION
U.N. ambassador says diplomacy needs more time. Published: 03/04/2012 by Stewart Stogel NEW YORK - Ron Prosor, Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations says Jerusalem believes diplomacy is the preferred course to resolve the current nuclear standoff with Iran.
"We should really pursue and focus on the sanctions and the diplomatic elements in trying to bring the regime in Tehran to reassess the way they want to go forward," explained the Israeli diplomat.
Listen to Conservative Talk Shows Right From Your Browser - For Free!
www.ConservativeTalkNow.comThe emphasis on the diplomatic option would appear to be a shift toward the position of the Obama administration which has stressed stepping up the diplomatic and economic pressure on the regime of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
“We are very keen, very clear in saying there is still a lot to be done on the diplomatic front that is not being done. "It is a pity that this has taken so much time. … But, I think the sanctions, especially those on the central bank of Iran, can be very effective. We have to pursue that," said Prosor in an exclusive interview Friday.
Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are to meet and confer on a host of topics this week in Washington. Continued: http://www.wnd.com/2012/03/israel-shelves-iran-military-option/
