MUSLIMS PRAYING IN ISRAELI AIRPORT SYNAGOGUE KICK UP RELIGIOUS CONTROVERY
[VIDEO] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAge13sux-o
By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz - October 25, 2016 - A recent incident at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport nearly turned the terminal into a flashpoint of international conflict. On Sunday, five Muslims, travelers from Turkey on looking for a place to pray, entered the terminal’s synagogue and prostrated themselves towards Mecca, spreading out fringed prayer shawls to kneel upon in place of the traditional prayer rugs. While some reacted with anger at the incident, perceiving it as desecration of Jewish prayer spaces and ritual objects, others saw it as a positive sign of coexistence. The incident occurred when a Turkish Muslim family found themselves in Israel’s airport during the ascribed time for one of their five daily prayers. The airport does not have a mosque, so the family entered the terminal’s synagogue in order to pray.
Since it was just before the holiday of Simchat Torah, a day on which religious Jews do not travel, the small synagogue was empty. Designed for Jews, the site did not fit their needs precisely, but the family adapted it to their needs. The Ark which contained the Torah scrolls faced south-west towards Jerusalem, which is slightly north of Mecca. Muslim prayer rugs were unavailable, so they made do by spreading out fringed Jewish prayer shawls, called tallits, available at the synagogue. They knelt on the tallits and began to pray.

TRUMP CALLS ON OBAMA TO VETO U.N. RESOLUTION ON ISRAELI SETTLEMENTS
The move risks sending mixed signals on U.S. foreign policy.
By Nahal Toosi - December 22, 2016 - President-elect Donald Trump is calling on President Barack Obama's administration to veto a United Nations resolution that denounces Israeli settlements, backing the Israeli government and weighing in on a highly sensitive topic weeks before he takes office. The resolution, a draft of which is being floated by Egypt, demands that Israel stop building settlements in territory claimed by Palestinians for a future state. According to reports, the draft text also says such settlement construction violates international law and is "dangerously imperiling the viability of a two-state solution."
In what appeared to be a full-court press on the topic, Trump used email, Twitter and Facebook to demand that the resolution be vetoed. Trump’s decision to make his stance known was striking in that, in theory, such matters are supposed to be left to the president still in charge to avoid sending mixed signals on U.S. foreign policy, although Trump’s transition team said the White House was given a heads-up.
"As the United States has long maintained, peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians will only come through direct negotiations between the parties, and not through the imposition of terms by the United Nations,” Trump said in his emailed statement. “This puts Israel in a very poor negotiating position and is extremely unfair to all Israelis." OBAMA BETRAYS ISRAEL AT THE UNITED NATIONS - IS AMERICA'S REPRIEVE NOW OVER?
By Michael - December 23, 2016 - Barack Obama actually did it. Despite enormous pressure from the government of Israel, President-elect Donald Trump and members of his own party in Congress, Barack Obama decided to stick a knife in Israel’s back at the United Nations. On Friday, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution that calls for a “two-State solution based on the 1967 lines” and that shockingly states that “the establishment by Israel of settlements in the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, has no legal validity”. This resolution was approved by a vote of 14 to 0, and the U.S. abstained from voting. But essentially the outcome of the vote was going to be determined by Barack Obama. For decades, the U.S. veto power on the UN Security Council has shielded Israel from these types of resolutions, but this time around Obama decided to betray Israel by allowing this vote to pass. Needless to say, this vote is going to have enormous implications for Israel, for the United States, and for the entire globe.
Just five days ago, I published one of the most important articles that I have ever written. It was entitled “The Real Reason Why America Has Been Given A Reprieve“, and in that article I explained why the U.S. has experienced a season of blessing since blocking a potential UN Security Council resolution that France wanted to introduce that would have formally divided the land of Israel in September 2015. If you have not read that article yet, please go back and read it, because it will be of great aid in understanding why this new UN Security Council resolution is so incredibly important.
As I stated in that previous article, it is my contention that the reason why things have gone so well for the United States over the past 16 months is because Barack Obama made the right decision in September 2015 and chose to protect the land of Israel from being divided.
But now that Barack Obama has reversed course and has greatly betrayed Israel, is America’s reprieve now over?
For months, I have been warning that Barack Obama may do something like this at the UN during the waning days of his presidency. You can see some examples of my previous warnings here, here and here. And I have also been warning about the severe consequences that the United States would face if our government did ultimately decide to betray Israel.
This UN Security Council resolution that was passed on Friday was originally going to be put up for a vote on Thursday. But after enormous pressure from the government of Israel and from President-elect Donald Trump, Egypt decided to withdraw the resolution that they had proposed at the last moment.
When that happened, it looked like everything was going to be okay.
However, temporary members of the UN Security Council New Zealand, Malaysia, Venezuela and Senegal immediately objected to Egypt’s move, and they indicated that they would submit the resolution for a vote if Egypt would not.

THE UN VOTES TO EXPEL 400,000 JEWS. NOW WHAT?
By Gidon Ben-zvi - The UN Security Council vote, made possible by the Obama Administration’s historic decision to abstain, has effectively nullified the Oslo Accords, which were premised on direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians. By short-circuiting direct talks on the most complicated of the “final status” issues — the fate of 400,000 Israelis residing over the Green Line — the UN’s condemnation of settlements is simultaneously a vote of support for the Palestinian narrative. As such, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has been given the green light to pursue his policy of making the West Bank “Judenrein.”
December 28, 2016 - How Many Jewish Children Are Too Many for the New York Times, Obama? How should the Israeli government proceed? On the Right, Jewish Home leader Naftali Bennet used the news to push for de facto annexation of large parts of the West Bank. On the Left, opposition leader Isaac Herzog called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to resign, while Tzipi Livni said that the anti-settlement resolution was a direct result of the Right’s proposed Regulation Bill, which aims to legalize thousands of Jewish homes in the West Bank.
For his part, Netanyahu responded quickly and vigorously to the vote, ordering a halt in funding to five UN institutions that are especially hostile toward Israel. In addition, Bibi vowed to have UN Security Council Resolution 2334 revoked in the same way that the 1975 resolution equating Zionism with racism was ultimately rescinded. https://www.algemeiner.com/2016/12/27/the-un-votes-to-expel-400000-jews-now-what/

10 PREVIOUS TIMES AMERICA FACED MAJOR DISASTER AFTER ATTEMPTING TO DIVIDE ISRAEL
Because Barack Obama has cursed Israel at the United Nations, America is now under a curse. Friday's stunning betrayal of Israel at the UN Security Council is making headlines all over the planet, but the truth is that what Obama has just done is far more serious than most people would dare to imagine. Over the past several decades, whenever the U.S. government has taken a major step toward the division of the land of Israel it has resulted in a major disaster hitting the United States. This keeps happening over and over again, and yet our leaders never seem to learn. And despite the fact that President-elect Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and prominent members of both parties in Congress strongly urged Obama to veto Security Council resolution 2334, he went ahead and let it pass anyway.
Because the United States has veto power on the UN Security Council, nothing can get passed without our support. And it has been the policy of the U.S. government for decades to veto all anti-Israel resolutions that come before the Security Council. [...]
#1 The last time the U.S. government refused to veto an anti-Israel resolution at the UN Security Council was in 1979. On March 22nd, 1979 the Carter administration chose not to veto UN Resolution 446.
Four days after that on March 26th, the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty was signed in Washington. As a result of that treaty, Israel gave up a tremendous amount of territory. Two days later, on March 28th, the worst nuclear power plant disaster in U.S. history made headlines all over the globe. The following comes from Wikipedia... The Three Mile Island accident was a partial nuclear meltdown that occurred on March 28, 1979, in reactor number 2 of Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Station (TMI-2) in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, United States. It was the most significant accident in U.S. commercial nuclear power plant history. The incident was rated a five on the seven-point International Nuclear Event Scale: Accident With Wider Consequences.
#2 On October 30th, 1991 President George H. W. Bush opened the Madrid Peace Conference which brought Israelis and Palestinians together to negotiate for the very first time. In his opening speech, Bush told Israel that "territorial compromise is essential for peace". At the exact same time, "the Perfect Storm" was brewing in the north Atlantic. This legendary storm traveled 1000 miles the wrong direction and sent 35 foot waves slamming directly into President Bush's home in Kennebunkport, Maine.

NETANYAHU SPOKESMAN: WE HAVE 'IRONCLAD' INFO. THAT OBAMA 'HELPED CRAFT' ANTI-ISRAEL RESOLUTION
Chris Enloe - December 25, 2016 A spokesman for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that Netanyahu’s government has “ironclad” information tying President Barack Obama directly to the anti-Israel resolution passed last week by the United Nations Security Council. David Keyes, Netanyahu’s spokesman, said on CNN Sunday that top Israeli officials have evidence that Obama not only pushed the deal to pass, but he helped “craft” it. “Well, we have ironclad information, frankly, that the Obama administration really helped push this resolution and helped craft it, from sources internationally and from sources in the Arab world, and it’s really an unfortunate legacy, kind of last minute jab at Israel that actually distances peace,” Keyes said.
“We have full confidence that the information is accurate,” he added of the accuracy of the information. “This resolution is shameful and actually pushes peace farther away.” Keyes doubled down on his comments during a second interview with Fox News, where he explained that an “abandonment” of Israel by the Obama administration is currently playing out for the world to see. “I think what we’re seeing is an abandonment of Israel, and an abandonment of a long-standing American policy,” he said.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/12/26/israel-accuses-obama-administration-helping-craft-push-un-censure.html
However, the White House denies that Obama had any hand in the drafting of the resolution. Still, Netanyahu has vowed that Israel will not abide by the resolution and has already started planning with his government how they will respond. They have already summoned many of their ambassadors - mainly from countries that voted for the resolution - including their U.S. ambassador.
And while the Obama administration has not been the biggest friend of Israel, President-elect Donald Trump has already pledged that under his leadership, things will change. Sens. Ted Cruz (Texas) and Lindsey Graham (S.C.) have also said in the days following the passing of the resolution that all U.S. funds to the U.N. should be cut until the international body revokes the anti-Israeli measure.

OBAMA'S SELF-DEFEATING SETTLEMENT POLICY
December 26, 2016 - By Yoram Ettinger - President Barack Obama’s collaboration with UN Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 2334, which condemns Israel’s settlements policy, has defied history and reality, injuring the peace process and US national security.
While President Obama greets the Jewish people upon Hanukkah, which commemorates the victory of the Maccabees in a series of heroic battles in the crux of the land of Israel, the mountain ridges of Judea and Southern Samaria – Beth El, Beth Horon, Hadashah, Beth Zur, Ma’aleh Levona, Adora’yim, Elazar, Beit Zachariya and Ba’al Hatzor – he contends that these are “occupied lands.” When Shimon the Maccabee (who succeeded Judah and Jonathan) was confronted with such a contention, he responded: “We have not occupied a foreign land; we have not ruled a foreign land; we have liberated the land of our forefathers from foreign occupation.”
1. It provides a tailwind to the UN demand to halt Israeli construction in Judea and Samaria, while encouraging the thirty-time-larger Arab construction there; an attempt to prejudge and force – not negotiate – a solution.
2. It dis-incentivizes Arabs to negotiate, since they expect further global pressure on Israel. Thus it undermines direct negotiation, which is the most effective way to advance peace, as documented by the Israel-Egypt and Israel-Jordan peace accords. On the other hand, the litany of US and international peace initiatives failed due to attempts to force a solution and bypass direct negotiation.
3. Just like previous US and international initiatives, this too radicalizes the Arabs, forcing them to outflank the US and the globe from the maximalist side, escalating their expectations and demands — thus, further reducing prospects of resolving the highly complicated peace process.

NETANYAHU IN WAKE OF US RESOLUTION: ‘I WON'T LET US BE SPIT ON'
December 26, 2016 - By JNS.org - JNS.org – Following Friday’s United Nations Security Council vote against Israeli settlements, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu toughened the Israeli response against countries that supported Resolution 2334. In closed-door meetings Sunday, Netanyahu said, “Israel is strong, and I won’t let us be spit on. We will respond forcefully.”
As part of Israel’s response to the Security Council’s decision, Netanyahu intends to work with President-elect Donald Trump and senior officials in his incoming administration to exact an economic and diplomatic price from the countries that voted in favor of the resolution.
In further retaliation against the Security Council resolution, which states that the Western Wall is “occupied territory,” the prime minister lit the second Hanukkah candle at the Western Wall plaza Sunday evening.
“I didn’t plan on being here this evening,” Netanyahu said, “but in light of the UN decision, I thought there was no better place to light the Hanukkah candle than right here, the Western Wall. According to the UN decision, the Maccabees did not liberate Jerusalem; they conquered Palestinian territory. According to the UN decision, their villages, from the area of Modi’in and its surroundings, were occupied Palestinian territory. Of course, the Palestinians came much later, and I ask those countries who wish us a ‘Happy Hanukkah,’ how could they vote for a UN resolution that says the place we now stand and celebrate Hanukkah is occupied territory?”

UN VOTE ACTUALLY 'A VICTORY FOR ISRAEL,' PAVES WAY FOR THE EMBASSY, EX-LABOR MK SAYS
Einat Wilf says Resolution 2334 ‘clarifies the absolute legality of pre-1967 Israel, including west Jerusalem,’ can provide basis for Trump to relocate embassy
By Raphael Ahren - December 26, 2016 - While Israeli politicians from across the political spectrum condemned the anti-settlements resolution passed Friday at the United Nations Security Council, a former Labor Party MK on Sunday called it a “victory for Israel.”
In a counterintuitive interpretation of the resolution, Einat Wilf, who served as Knesset member between 2010 and 2013, argued that the controversial text actually enshrines in international law Israel’s right to West Jerusalem and thus makes it easier for the US to move its embassy there. “UN Security Council Resolution 2334 is an important, if unintended, victory for Israel and Zionism. In it the UN Security Council provides the most resounding international and legal support yet for Israel within the 1949 ceasefire lines, including west Jerusalem,” she said in a statement Sunday.
Wilf, a native Jerusalemite, pointed to two sections of the resolution that she said were key to legitimizing Israel’s claims to West Jerusalem. For one, the text determines that Israeli settlement in territory captured in 1967, including East Jerusalem, “has no legal validity.” The resolution further calls on all states to “distinguish, in their relevant dealings, between the territory of the State of Israel and the territories occupied since 1967.”

TRUMP SELECTS PRO-SETTLEMENT AMBASSADOR TO ISRAEL
By Gary - December 16, 2016 - In a very positive sign for Zionism, President-Elect Donald Trump has selected conservative Jew David Friedman as the next U.S. ambassador to Israel. Friedman openly supports continued settlement construction in the West Bank and moving the U.S. embassy to Israel's "eternal capital" - Jerusalem. The selection is a very strong sign that Trump plans to move ahead with moving the embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv once the current six-month waiver ends. The prophetic implications of this are immense. Some telling quotes from the BBC article:
“ The 57-year-old lawyer is strongly critical of the long-held US goal of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He also supports Jewish settlement building in the occupied West Bank, which the Obama administration considers an "obstacle to peace".
A liberal Jewish group opposed his nomination. Conservatives welcomed it.
Mr Friedman said he looked forward to working "from the US Embassy in Israel's eternal capital, Jerusalem", a statement that will anger Palestinians... Mr Friedman advised Mr Trump on US-Israel issues during the election campaign.
He has made clear his support for Jewish settlements in the West Bank, which he refers to using the biblical names of Judea and Samaria, and East Jerusalem. http://www.unsealed.org/2016/12/trump-selects-pro-settlement-ambassador.html

TRUMP'S PICK FOR AMBASSADOR TO ISRAEL: 'END THE 2-STATE NARRATIVE'
December 16, 2016 - Mark Katkov - President-elect Donald Trump announced Thursday he will nominate bankruptcy attorney David Friedman as U.S. ambassador to Israel. Friedman, who has no prior diplomatic experience, is an outspoken supporter of Jewish settlement on the Israeli-occupied West Bank and has questioned the need for a Palestinian state. According to the Israeli newspaper Ha'aretz, Friedman is an Orthodox Jew who maintains a part-time residence in Israel. He is a regular columnist for the Israeli news website Arutz Sheva, which is identified with the settler movement.
In his columns, Friedman has called the two-state solution an "illusion," and compared liberal American Jews to "kapos," Jews who aided Nazis during the Holocaust. In a statement from the Trump transition office announcing his nomination, Friedman indicated he is prepared to upend decades of U.S. policy regarding the location of the U.S. embassy, which is now in Tel Aviv: "I intend to work tirelessly to strengthen the unbreakable bond between our two countries and advance the cause of peace within the region, and look forward to doing this from the U.S. embassy in Israel's eternal capital, Jerusalem."
The U.S. position has long been that the legal status of Jerusalem is yet to be determined. A law passed by Congress in 1995 requires the U.S. to move its embassy to Jerusalem but allows presidents to waive that requirement, which all have done. During his campaign, Trump pledged to move the embassy. Friedman's nomination was greeted by a storm of commentary — pro and con.
Arutz Sheva quoted settler leader Yossi Dagan: "David Friedman is a friend and a true partner of Israel and the settlements."
Morton Klein, president of the Zionist Organization of America, told Ha'aretz: "[Friedman] has the potential to be the greatest U.S. Ambassador to Israel ever. No previous ambassador appreciates the political, historic, legal and religious rights of the Jews to Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem like David. Yet he respects and understands the beliefs and hopes and dreams of the political left in Israel and America."
The New Israel Fund, which supports progressive social programs in Israel, had this reaction:

MOVING US EMBASSY TO JERUSALEM: 'WORLD WAR III' OR A SIMPLE 'REALITY CHECK'?
December 26, 2016 - By Alex Traiman /JNS.org - The incoming Donald Trump administration’s stated intention to move America’s embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem has been met with a Palestinian reaction, as one commentator described it, that “make[s] it seem like World War III will erupt if the embassy is moved,” but experts say that response is largely unwarranted.
“Much of Palestinian opposition to moving the embassy is the myth that this is a monumental policy change,” Ben David, director of communications for the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs think tank, told JNS.org. “The myth is that moving the embassy will cut off any possibility for American representation to the Palestinians.”
Ben David explained that moving the embassy would simply be “a reality check.” Typically, a country’s foreign embassies are located in capital cities, but, despite the fact that the modern state of Israel established Jerusalem as its capital in 1948, many nations — including the US — established their embassies in Tel Aviv as part of a refusal to recognize Israel’s annexation of eastern sections of Jerusalem and the unification of the city following the Jewish state’s victory in the 1967 Six-Day War.

DO THE PALESTINIANS REALLY WANT A STATE?
December 26, 2016 - By David Harris - In all the focus on the December 23rd vote at the UN Security Council — where 14 nations supported a resolution critical of Israel, and the US broke with longstanding policy and abstained instead of vetoing the measure — the question of underlying Palestinian motives has not been addressed.
It should be. In fact, it’s the key to the whole exercise.
First, the Palestinians have rejected one offer after another for a peaceful settlement in the past nearly 70 years. Second, and more tragically, their misguided actions now make any chance of an accord even less likely.
Friday’s UN Security Council resolution is a case in point.
If the goal was to increase the chance of Palestinian statehood alongside Israel (and not in its place), the effort was an abysmal failure, despite the lopsided vote. Those diplomats who rushed to applaud the outcome — and I’ll set aside that thuggish countries like Venezuela that don’t bring a shred of good will to the table — should think twice about what they actually achieved.
If they wanted to excoriate Israel, a longstanding vocation of too many UN member states, then they can thump their chests. But for those truly committed to advancing prospects for peace, they took a big step backwards, once again falling into the Palestinian trap.
Three things should be abundantly evident by now.
First, while Israeli settlement-building is unquestionably a highly contentious matter, the core issue in the conflict has always been the refusal by the Palestinians and their supporters to recognize Israel’s legitimacy and to negotiate in good faith towards a lasting peace deal. That was true in 1947-8, when a two-state solution was proposed by the UN; in 1967; in 2000-1; in 2008; during the 10-month (2009-10) settlement freeze that Israel adopted under Prime Minister Netanyahu in response to an American request; and in 2013-14, the most recent attempt at direct, bilateral talks facilitated by the US. https://www.algemeiner.com/2016/12/26/do-the-palestinians-really-want-a-state/

UN APPEALS FOR $547 MILLION IN AID FOR PALESTINIANS
[Ednote: I have watched this for 24 years. When the PA gets close to a peace agreement, they renege knowing they will get a juicy payoff to make them behave. We all know by this time that they would be crazy to change. The money the PA receives is the very reason they keep milking it. Arafat became a billionaire. When he was poisoned his wife ended up with his billions and bought into gambling houses in France. enofnote]
By i24news - December 19, 2016 - SAID KHATIB (AFP) - The 'Shaath House' in Khan Yunis was largely destroyed by an Israeli attack in the 2014 Gaza war but Marjan Teeuwen specialises in turning unwanted places into works of art - Tiny but densely populated coastal enclave could become uninhabitable by 2020 if current trends continue. The United Nations launched an appeal Monday for $547 million (524 million euros) to help 1.6 million people in the Palestinian territories in 2017.
The response covers 1.1 million residents of the Gaza Strip, which has been under an Israeli blockade for the past decade, and half a million people in the occupied West Bank. The most recent conflict between Israel and Gaza ended in August 2014 but Israel has maintained tight restrictions on the enclave, while Egypt has also closed its border. The United Nations has warned that tiny but densely populated coastal enclave could become uninhabitable by 2020 if current trends continue. "Needs in Gaza remain particularly acute and humanitarian services provided by the international community remain a lifeline," said Robert Piper, UN humanitarian coordinator for the Palestinian territories, in a letter accompanying the launch. The appeal was down from $571 million the year before, of which about 47 percent, or $267 million, was met.
Politically there has been few positive trends in 2016, with plans for a unity government stumbling amid deepening divisions between rival Palestinian factions. Attempts to encourage new peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian leadership, stalled since 2014, have also failed. http://www.i24news.tv/en/news/israel/diplomacy-defense/133043-161219-un-appeals-for-547-million-in-aid-for-palestinians

CIRCLE JANUARY 15, 2017: 70 NATIONS WILL GATHER IN PARIS TO DISCUSS THE CREATION OF A PALESTINIAN STATE
By Michael Snyder - December 28, 2016 - On Jan. 15, representatives from 70 different countries will gather in Paris, France, for an unprecedented global conference. The stated goal of this conference is to promote a "two-state solution" as the way that lasting peace will be brought to the Middle East. In Israel, there is a tremendous amount of concern that whatever is agreed upon at this conference will immediately be used as the basis for a U.N. Security Council resolution that would permanently divide the land of Israel and create a Palestinian state.
But things would have to move very rapidly in order for that to happen, because Barack Obama's time in the White House comes to an end Jan. 20, and Donald Trump has already made it exceedingly clear that he would never support such a resolution.
The UN Security Council resolution that was passed on Friday was one of the most significant events that we have witnessed in decades. Resolution 2334 made all Israeli settlements in the West Bank and in East Jerusalem illegal, it set the 1967 ceasefire lines as the border between the Israelis and the Palestinians, and it granted every single inch of East Jerusalem to the Palestinians. But it stopped short of giving official U.N. Security Council recognition to a Palestinian state, and that is why this conference on Jan. 15 is so important.
On Wednesday, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will lay out a plan which many believe will serve as the blueprint for the upcoming conference in Paris. This is something that I discussed yesterday. Apparently Kerry has been working on this for quite some time, and according to the Times of Israel, Jewish officials are fearful that he may propose something drastic.

FRANCE: ISRAELI-PALESTINIAN PEACE SUMMIT SET FOR JANUARY 15, 2017
Neither Israel nor the Palestinians will be at meeting, but Paris will brief Netanyahu, Abbas afterwards; 70 countries to attend
By Times of Israel staff and AFP - December 22, 2016 - PARIS, France — Representatives from approximately 70 countries will gather in France on January 15 for a conference to throw the international community’s weight behind a two-state solution in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, French officials said Thursday.
Neither Israel nor the Palestinians will be present at the meeting, but France intends to invite Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Paris some time afterward to brief them on the outcome of the talks, the foreign ministry said. French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault, currently visiting the Lebanese capital Beirut, said he hoped the meeting would “relaunch” the peace process and “re-affirm the necessity of having two states.”
Netanyahu rejected a French proposal earlier this month to meet Abbas in Paris. “We would like to invite him anyway,” a French official said.
The French have been pushing an initiative aimed at revitalizing the moribund peace process between Palestinians and Israelis. While the Palestinians have welcomed the initiative, Israel has remained critical of the plan, arguing that only bilateral negotiations can prove successful.
Since a peace summit in June in Paris officially kicked off the French initiative, three groups have been tasked with examining avenues to propel the peace process forward, according to a report in French newspaper Le Monde earlier this month.

U.N. WATCHDOG EXPOSES SECRET CONCESSIONS IN OBAMA'S IRAN DEAL
Sarah Lee - December 25, 2016 - President Barack Obama, in addition to allegedly financially empowering Iran and setting them up for future development of nuclear weapons, also apparently stood behind what the Weekly Standard calls “secret exemptions” contained in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, more commonly known as the Iran Deal.
The deal, agreed to in July 2015 between the P5+1 and Tehran, essentially mandates that Iran cut uranium enrichment activities in exchange for sanctions relief. Now however, it appears there were secret concessions made that allowed Iran the ability to “keep low-enriched uranium in various forms beyond what’s allowed under the nuclear deal.” The Weekly Standard reports:
The International Atomic Energy Agency on Friday posted documents revealing that Iran had been given exemptions in January that permit the country to stockpile uranium in excess of the 300 kilogram limit set by the nuclear deal, experts said. The agreements had been kept secret for almost a year, but recent reports indicated that the Trump administration intended to make them public.
The United Nations nuclear watchdog and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) recently made the documents public and revealed that Iran had been given exemptions as late as January that “permit the country to stockpile uranium in excess of the 300 kilogram limit set by the nuclear deal.”
The concession applies specifically to low-enriched uranium “deemed unrecoverable” for use in a nuclear weapon. While Iran has promised not to build a facility to try to recover the uranium, the language regarding the LEUs is not included in the original Iran deal, and the administration has little explanation as to why: http://www.theblaze.com/news/2016/12/25/u-n-watchdog-exposes-secret-concessions-in-obamas-iran-deal/

SORROW ACCORDING TO GOD
Third Temple on the Way as Priests Prepare Ritual Shabbat Showbreads
By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz - December 21, 2016 - Last Saturday, a Shabbat reenactment of a Temple ritual took place in the holy city of Hebron, giving participants a taste of the Temple service as it was in Biblical times while taking a practical step towards preparing for the Third Temple. More than 80 participants were greeted in Hebron Friday afternoon by the lighting of the Temple Menorah, lit by Shimshon Album and Rabbi Yaakov Hayman, the newly-elected chairman of the Temple Movement. Facing the Menorah was the special rack holding the 12 lechem panim (show breads). The lechem panim is unleavened bread, similar to the matzah eaten on Passover, and the 12 loaves are required by Biblical commandment to be on display inside the Temple sanctuary at all times. Cups of frankincense mixed with salt were placed on the bread.
And thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth deals shall be in one cake. Leviticus 24:5
In the times of the Temple, Kohanim (men of the Jewish priestly caste) were separated into family groups that came to Jerusalem to serve in the Temple one week out of every year. The incoming group of priests would arrive on Friday to begin their service on the Sabbath. On Saturday afternoon, the outgoing priests would remove the showbread that had been on display for a week, replacing it with newly-baked bread.

IS THE JEWISH COMMUNITY READY FOR A VERY MERRY INTERFAITH CHRISMUKKAH?
Over 60% of US Jews who married since 2000 have non-Jewish spouses. Will today’s youth be raised inside, outside, or maybe with one foot in the American Jewish community?
By Amanda Borschel-Dan - December 22, 2016 - A five-year-old, Ella Goldberg suspected Santa wasn’t real. After all, he never came to her house, just to her grandmother’s. Finally, her mother confirmed her suspicions, but made her swear not to tell her friends at school. “She said she couldn’t lie to me because ‘it wasn’t part of your tradition,'” Goldberg said this week. Goldberg, whose mother is Catholic and father is Jewish, converted to Judaism as a baby and grew up in the faith.
“From a young age, it was always very clear to us that Christmas was ‘mom’s holiday.’ We knew that Hanukkah was our tradition and we were proud of it,” she said. “My younger sister Lauren brought in a Hanukkiah [candelabra] for ‘show-and-tell’ in first grade and proudly proclaimed that ‘you all have one day of presents and we have eight!'”
It’s relatively easy for interfaith families to celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah — when the holidays are distinctive dates. In a true December dilemma, this year the two coincide. (According to a nifty Vox article replete with charts and graphs, the convergence of the first day of Hanukkah with Christmas Eve or Day has occurred on seven other occasions since 1900.)
As jokes fly about Chrismukka or Hanukmas, in Jewish circles the volume on the constant communal intermarriage conversation has moved to full blast.
There is objective cause for concern among those working towards Jewish continuity: Over 60 percent of Jews who married since 2000 have non-Jewish spouses. A young Ella Goldberg celebrating her 'mom's holiday,' Christmas.
Add to this mix another — even more pervasive — push factor: the rise of the religious “nones.” According to the 2013 Pew Survey, “A Portrait of American Jews,” 22% of adult US Jews consider themselves “Jews of no religion.”
In an increasingly secular United States, this religious disaffiliation is hardly unique to Jews. “Nearly eight-in-ten Millennials with low levels of religious commitment describe themselves as atheists, agnostics or ‘nothing in particular,'” according to a 2016 Pew report, “The factors driving the growth of religious ‘nones’ in the US”

THE FIRST STEP TOWARDS BUILDING THE THIRD TEMPLE: A SYNAGOGUE ON THE TEMPLE MOUNT
By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz - "Even them will I bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer; their burnt-offerings and their sacrifices shall be acceptable upon Mine altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples." Isaiah 56:7 (The Israel Bible™)
Yaakov Hayman, the head of Yishai, an NGO dedicated to reinstating Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount, is preparing to submit a survey map to the Israeli government to build four synagogues, one in each corner of the Temple Mount compound, a critical turning point steering Israel in the right direction towards prayer at Judaism's holiest site.
Legally, the government is required to permit Jews to pray at the site. In a 2015 case brought by Rabbi Yehuda Glick, now a member of the Likud party, the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court ruled that in accordance with Israel's basic law that ensures freedom of worship for all religions, Jews must be permitted to pray on the Temple Mount.
In practice, Jews who ascend to the Temple Mount are antagonized by Islamic Waqf guards who closely monitor their every move. Any action that appears worshipful results in immediate expulsion.
At present, Christians too are forbidden from praying on the Temple Mount. True to the Bible's vision of a House of Prayer for all Nations, Hayman believes "Anyone who doesn't object to anyone else being on the Temple Mount should be allowed up there to pray", he told Breaking Israel News.
Hayman believes he has the solution. According to Jewish tradition, the Temple was destroyed due to hatred between Jews. Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount is being prevented by hatred; the political agenda determined by Muslim violence. Hayman believes the answer is an outpouring of love for the Temple Mount that brings people together in prayer.
"A synagogue is the first step towards building the Third Temple", Hayman explained. Quoting the book of Kings, he noted that the Temple was inaugurated not just as a place for sacrifices but mainly as a house of prayer.
And hearken Thou to the supplication of Thy servant, and of Thy people Yisrael, when they shall pray toward this place; yea, hear Thou in heaven Thy dwelling-place; and when Thou hearest, forgive. I Kings 8:30
Hayman cited the Mishna (oral law), which stated explicitly that there was a synagogue standing alongside the Temple. Hayman's plan is to build four synagogues angled in to face the Holy of Holies. "The wall facing the Temple will be glass, so the people who can see the Temple while they are praying," he explained.
"We need to get more Jews to go up to the Temple Mount," Hayman urged. Unfortunately, Jewish visitation is severely limited. Over the past 12 months, only 14,000 Jews were permitted to visit the Temple Mount. "Last year, over 7 million Jews visited the Kotel (Western Wall), just a few yards away. When we have thousands of Jews going up every day, Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount will just naturally begin to happen."
Surprisingly, Hayman is not a rabbi. More appropriate to his function, Hayman's profession is developing and managing building projects. He approaches the holy endeavor like any other building project but construction on the Temple Mount poses a unique challenge.
"The first stage in any building project is surveying the land and getting the map accepted by the government as accurate and valid," Hayman explained to Breaking Israel News. "This is usually simple, almost automatic. We surveyed the Temple Mount and submitted the map three years ago. It was the first time the Temple Mount had been measured since 1967."
Upon conducting the research necessary to determine whether construction on the Temple Mount would be legal, "We discovered that the Temple Mount is not registered to anyone," Hayman divulged to Breaking Israel News.
"Nonetheless, the survey was rejected by order of the Prime Minister's office. They didn't want to deal with it."
Despite initial rejections, Hayman is preparing to submit the survey once again.
"My hope is that due to current events and slightly different leadership in the upper levels of government that it may get through this time," Hyman said. He explained that the UNESCO vote that granted a religious monopoly on the Temple Mount to the Muslims opened the door to last Friday's UN Security Council vote that granted Judea, Samaria, and East Jerusalem to the Palestinians.
"If you don't have sovereignty in your own holiest place, how can you demand sovereignty anywhere else?" Hayman asked rhetorically. "Building a synagogue on the Temple Mount can help Israel politically...I hope the government will understand that."
In a rare show of unity in a profession trained in dialectic, rabbis from all sectors have voiced support for the construction. The seeds of the project were planted when Rabbi Shlomo Goren, the IDF's Chief Rabbi, stood at the Kotel moments after it had been liberated from Jordan. Rabbi Goren organized several prayer sessions on the Temple Mount complete with Torah scrolls, but the government put a stop to them before he could see it through.
Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu, former Sephardi Chief Rabbi of Israel, called for the construction of a synagogue on the Temple Mount and now, his son, Safed's Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, is working toward that goal as the president of Yishai.
Chief Rabbi David Lau, generally considered to be moderate, stunned many last June when, in an interview on the televised Knesset Channel, he called for the construction of the Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount.
"There's room for Jews, there's room for Christians, there's room for everybody," Rabbi Lau said to a shocked audience.

THOUSANDS FULFILLING END TIME PROPHESY IN ISRAEL -
Michael F. Haverluck - Thousands of Jewish people around the world are fulfilling End Times prophesy by making "Aliyah" - the Hebrew word meaning "going" up, or immigrating to Israel. On an annual basis, thousands of Jewish people from every corner of the Earth are resettling in Israel - even though the transition is often difficult, but they are often the recipients of assistance along the way.
The Bible indicates that in the Last Days, the Jewish people will return in droves to unite in their homeland after being dispersed around the world for two millennia.
Answering the call to go home
Neal Brinn, a Jewish American, made Aliyah with his family back to Israel after serving 20 years with the United States Navy.
"The highest position I had was the commanding officer of the U.S. warship, the USS Carter Hall, which was an amphibious ship about 200 meters long," Brinn told CBN News.
Today, the 20-year veteran lives in a religious neighborhood in Jerusalem with his wife, Shoshanna, and their four children. Even though many believe that Brinn and his family made a great sacrifice to move from the comforts in the West to live in the war-torn Middle East, the young family insists that they are now truly home.
Leaving the luxury of living in America, Brinn found himself living a quite different lifestyle in Israel. Without a car, Brinn spent the entire summer accompanying his four-year-old twins on a bus to public school.
"We do have a car," Brin mused. "It's got four wheels; it's got one seat. Only one person can sit in it and that's Yudi, who's five months old. The propulsion system is human legs attached to arms. It's a stroller. That's our car. It holds everything we need. If we need to go shopping, we can take it everywhere, even up the steps."
Major turnaround
Less than a decade ago, Brinn began taking his Jewish heritage more seriously.
"About eight years ago, Brinn's life took on major changes," CBN News' Chris Mitchell and Julie Stahl - who work out of the Christian organization's Jerusalem bureau - reported. "He became more religious, met Shoshanna and married. They knew they would come to Israel at some point; they just didn't know when."
While in the Navy, Brinn went back-and-forth as to whether he would stay 20 or 30 years ... keeping in mind that an additional 10 years would prove to be more financially rewarding - but a decade would make the transition more difficult for his children.
"For staying 30 years, I'd make 2.4 more times retirement pay every month, which is a tremendous difference," the Jewish American-turned Israeli Jew pointed out.
Brinn and his wife finally came to the conclusion that Israel was their true home, spurring the Naval officer to retire and move immediately.
"This is where we feel every Jew needs to be," Brinn asserted. "And our children will learn the language so much better at the ages of between five months, three-and-a-half, and our twins who are four, than if it was 10 years later."
Brinn and his family had to make some major adjustments in their transition to Jerusalem, where they were amazed at the amount of litter people left around his neighborhood - a practice that seemed to be tolerated by most. Not as tolerant as his neighbors, the ex-Navy officer used an idea he had from being the executive officer of a ship and orchestrated a weekly cleaning campaign he dubbed the "Hour of Power."
"We're hoping this will be a habit and stays and can really clean this space up," Brinn shared. "We go from just picking up litter to be actually cleaning. I mean, these stone stairs could look like clean stone - as opposed to stones with weeds here and dirt here."
The motivation behind it all
When asked why he decided to make the transition from a luxurious lifestyle in America to a lower standard of living in Israel, Brinn said his Jewish heritage - and what it means to be a Jew - made the decision easy.
"I can't tell you why some people would move, but I can tell you why a Jew would," Brinn offered. "We have a national anthem called HaTikva -- which means 'the hope' - and it says in HaTikva that as long as the heart of the Jew beats -- I'm not quoting it exactly, but - as long as the heart of the Jew beats, this 2,000-year dream is just finally being realized."
Help along the way
Helping Brinn make the difficult transition, Rabbi Yehoshua Fass' organization, Nefesh B'Nefesh, made the move from America to Israel possible.
"We have this modern-day miracle of the state of Israel that is just unfathomable -- it's fantasy stuff," Fass explained. "For 2,000 years of wandering and dreaming ... and all of a sudden, you get on a plane and change your status and become a citizen of this country - it's incredible."
Brinn and his family were just six of tens of thousands who the Jewish organization helped make the move to Israel a reality.
"Two hundred twenty-three North American immigrants arrived on a flight just weeks after the Brinns, including 75 young people who came to join the Israeli Defense Force - the IDF," Mitchell and Stahl informed. "One of them was Nefesh B'Nefesh's immigrant No. 50,000, Rebekkah Glanzer, from Brooklyn, New York."
Each of the immigrants seem to have an innate sense of belonging once they arrive in the Holy Land.
"There's a feeling of belonging here that you really don't have anywhere else, and I just couldn't see myself spending the rest of my life any other place - so I'm here," Glanzer expressed. "IDF service is part of what makes Israel such a united country. It makes everyone feel like it's really their own. So, I didn't feel I could make Aliyah without contributing or participating in that way."
Ally Strauss also made Aliyah and shared that she could not support Israel from afar as well as she could as an Israeli citizen.
"It's something I've dreamed about doing since [I was] seven years old," Strauss shared. "I think Israel has a right to be a country, and I want to do what I can to make sure it stays a country as long as possible."
Zachary Olstein was even more compelled to make Aliyah and join the IDF after witnessing the remnants of the Holocaust in Europe.
"I went to Poland ... I saw the concentration camps ... I saw the ghettos," Olstein recalled. "It became so much more real. My purpose for coming to the army, I think, is that I want to help protect the one place that I know - God forbid it ever happens - the place that's safe for the Jewish people."
Two Jewish Americans from Washington, D.C., Tammy and Gene Berman, decided to make Aliyah after their retirement in order to fill a void that would exist until they went home.
"It's our destiny - we're Jewish," Tammy Berman insisted. "America's a wonderful, fantastic country; I love it. My parents were immigrants to America, but we're visitors there. We belong here."
